Financial LiteracyOur mission at Walpole Co-operative Bank is to be the guide to financial wellness for the communities we serve. Through a partnership with education technology company EverFi, Walpole Co-operative Bank empowers students in Massachusetts with the knowledge and skills they need to take control of their financial future using a financial literacy program. Our financial literacy program provides interactive digital financial education to middle/high schools throughout our footprint. Students from Tri-County Regional Technical School, Blue Hills Regional Vocational School, King Phillip Middle School and Walpole High School have completed, or are currently enrolled in the curriculum. In 2015, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) highlighted EverFi’s schools-based financial education programs in a report on Advancing K-12 Financial Education: A Guide for Policymakers. Our Programs:Vault – Understanding MoneyTM (Grade School)This online course uses the latest in simulation and gaming technologies to bring complex financial concepts to life for today’s digital generation and introduce financial literacy skills early in a child’s cognitive development. The 2.5-hour curriculum aligns with state and national standards and includes topics such as saving, budgeting, responsibility and decision-making, credit and debt, careers, income, and charity. EverFi – Financial EducationTM (High School)This eight-hour web-based program uses the latest in new media technology to bring complex financial concepts to life for today’s digital generation.The platform uniquely tracks the progress and performance of every student and provides students who successfully complete the course with certification in financial literacy, a valuable mark of distinction on college applications and resumes.
