A Message from the President
Welcome to the new Walpole Co-operative Bank website!
We have redesigned the site in order to give you quicker access to information about our products and services, our community involvement, our staff, and much more. As always, we want to make it easy for you to do business with our Bank, whether it’s in person, by phone, or online.
I especially hope you will visit our Community Events page. Since our founding in 1912 as an independent, non-public institution, we have provided local residents and businesses with more than competitive financial products and superior service. We have also been an active, contributing member of the community. We’re proud of that!
But, our commitment to the community goes one step further. We feel we have an obligation to provide our marketplace with the assurance that there will always be a safe, conservative and consistent community bank with which to do business.
This is particularly important now, with recent headlines dominated by news of failing banks, sub-prime loans and federal bailouts. Fortunately, Walpole Co-operative Bank customers do not have to worry. Our deposits have always been 100% insured. We have never originated or purchased sub-prime loans. Our substantial capital position and sustainable earnings negate any need for us to participate in any government relief programs.
